l ALWAYS suggest a remmington wet to straight. It is hotter than most moderate priced brands and it works great! l would not use it on wet hair though because it never gets completely dry! It works so well and its only about 25 bucks at wal mart! Hope this helps! (O and l have had the same one for four years and it still get super hot. My hair is very thick and unmanageable.. its fantastic)

Conair is a good brand to buy from! Chi straighteners protect your hair from damage, and Conair doesn't, so l suggest you get something to protect your hair from the heat. i reccomend Tressemme.

Sally is l have this iron http://sallybeauty.com/jilbere-solid-ceramic-flat-iron/SBS-345085,default,pd.html?cgid=BUYNOW01-01 FAST heat up, l love that part You can control the temperature setting from 1-25 I've had it for 3 years now It is cheaper then a Chi It is never let me down
Also walmart sells flatirons that can not compare to a Chi or this Iron. Good Luck on your search.
