im on a track team and run everyday. l see people on my track team shave there legs and put tape on. what is the reason most track people shave and put on tape? what is the tape called anyways? please do not put something like they shave because they are gay. Why do they shave their legs for track? thanks
is it easier to clean the area (better hygiene)? How do l explain it to my parents of that.

They do it for the same reason swimmers shave their legs. It is an attempt to go a liiiiittle bit faster. Smooth surfaces cause less friction and just sort of glide through the air/water easier. It does not really help thaaaaat much though.

to be honest l am not exactly sure why
some people say it makes them a bit more aerodynamic and lets them run at a faster speed
i was on a track team and l always shaved cus a few seconds could rele make all the difference
and yea it is easier to clean and makes for better hygiene
as 4 the tape..im not sure what the exact name for it is but supposedly it makes the joints in your leg easier to move
